PFLAUME II

In 2021, for the first time, I had a fixed location for a work area. A common room with storage, which I could temporarily use as a workshop. An important experience, because until then I had realized my projects either in the open air or later under the terrace roof.

IIn this new phase, after a break of over 17 years, my first large sculpture was created from a plum trunk, made in Badel. She also found me in a special way:

Originally, I was out picking up a woodturning machine from a former roommate friend. A few villages away. It worked. But during our conversation, she told me that she works as an arborist and regularly has wood from old stocks available.

When she found out about my work, she asked me if I was interested in very old plum wood.

What then presented itself to me was pure abundance: carefully covered wood, ideally dried, perfectly prepared for the next step of finishing.
